Economic Aspects of the Energy Transition

I make three points relating to the transition from fossil fuels non-carbon energy. One is that economic cost of moving renewable energy in electricity generation very low, and probably lower than many estimates benefits this change—at least for U.S. The second that, if it were be successful economy away oil particular, a carbon tax would have much great generally believed, range $400 per ton \(CO_{2}\) or above. Finally, decarbonization implies electrification, replacement by transportation, space heating other fields.
